Institute of Turkish Revolution History

Institute of Turkish Revolution History was founded on 15 April 1942 affiliation to the Faculty of Letters, Ankara University in accordance with the Law 4204. As of 1982, the Institute engaged in active studies as an independent department affiliated to the Ankara University Rectorate.

The functions principle of the institute does not only aim at conducting academic studies on the proclamation of the Turkish Republic, Atatürk’s Principles and Revolutions, or no the promotion of the  Kemalist idea, but acquainting and  training  academicians in this field by providing them with comprehensive MA and PhD education.

Within this context, Institute of Turkish Revolution History is an academic entity offering postgraduate studies undertakes projects in the framework set for the research institutes, acts as the coordinator of the “Atatürk’s Principles and the History of Turkish Revolution”, a mandatory undergraduate course offered to all the depertmants of the university; moreover, the institute presents its own archive, library and museum to the exploitation of the researchers in the field, let alone organizing symposiums, conferences, panels and talk for the better enlightenment of the public.
